Our friends at Ear x-tacy were kind enough to share with us their top selling CDs, LPs and Self-Released albums of 2010. Congrats to Ben Sollee and Daniel Martin Moore for grabbing the top spot in CD sales with Dear Companion. They put on an amazing in-store performance and I’m sure it helped drive their local success. Cabin’s new album, Among the Rectangles, made a strong showing in the top CDs category (the only self-released album to do so) and lead all self-released albums, again showing their talent and stronghold in the Louisville music scene. The final Louisville is For Lovers (Vol. 10) was the second best selling self-released album. Newcomers to the Louisville scene, The Pass, had their debut album, Burst, finish fourth in self-released sales, and the album wasn’t even released until September. Their EP, Colors, was also a top self-released seller. Black Keys’ Brothers was resoundingly popular in both CD and LP sales.
I want to release this list again next year, so keep buying music in 2011!! Happy New Year!
