MGMT @ The Vogue (Indy) – 6/14

Love them, or love them, MGMT is going on tour for their sophomore album, Congratulations, and will be stopping at The Vogue in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 14, 2010.  Tickets are on sale TODAY and will run you a reasonable $28 bucks.  This show is going to sell out, so don’t wait until the last minute.  Congratulations is out on Tuesday, April 13th, and people are in for a real treat.  It is a huge departure from their debut, but I think you will enjoy it.  That said, it will take a couple of listens.  I wasn’t sold initially, but my brother over at We Listen For You insisted that I really give it a chance and my full attention.  I’m sold now.  He wrote a fantastic review of the album and I suggest you read it before listening.  Consider it a guidebook to the album. The whole album is streaming on their website, if you want to check it out before it is released. We’ll see you at the show.

Just an fyi, Congratulations surpasses the catchiness of Oracular Spectacular… But it is very innovative and touches on many genres of music, I thought it was a beautiful album. It brings me feelings of past decades and I feel like it has a lot of similarities to the Mamas & Papas as well as earl Genesis. I would not say it SUCKS, that is such a vague statement.
