Is it any good? Is it a live album? I was gonna call my local indie today to order it for me, but I’d really like to hear it first. I love BPB, but I’m a little leery of this one…

  2. Nick says:

Not a live album. It is AMAZING. It is worth every cent!!

  3. rob says:

Wow, guess I’ll order it. Mostly acoustic? Does BPB do all the vocals?

  4. Nick says:

Not acoustic. A lot of electric guitar. BPB splits most vocals with Emmett Kelly of the Cairo Gang. A great duo. It packs a punch but maintains the classic BPB style. Vocal driven with every word dripping with importance. If you don’t like it, I know 10 people that will buy it from you. Especially if you get one with the bonus 7″.

  5. rob says:

I’ll be getting the CD, not the vinyl. Thanks for all the info. Looking forward to hearing it next week!

  6. Nick says:

The CD may come with the 7″. Be on the lookout!

  7. Nick says:

I should clarify above. Some songs are acoustic.

  8. Christopher says:

is it much better than the collaboration with Sweeney? I didn’t really like that one to be honest, so I’m hoping this’ll be better..

  9. Nick says:

I liked the colab w/ Sweeney, but I like this one more. For what it’s worth.

  10. dckell says:

does anyone know how to get one of the releases with the bonus 7″? I just purchased one and did not get it. :(

  11. Nick says:

Ear x may have some with the LP. If you get the CD at Ear x it comes with the bonus 7″. Give the CD away as a present. Not sure of any other way. I didn’t see it on the Drag City webpage.

  12. kevlo9 says:

I picked up the vinyl and also grabbed the cd so I could get the bonus 7″…Ear x tacy is giving the bonus 7″ away with the cd. So far I really like it. Looking forard to the show on Sunday!

  13. K says:

Reckless Records in Chicago is selling the LP and 7″ shrink-wrapped together.

  14. rob says:

Anymore thoughts on how this album rates after a few days listening? Near his best work or middle of the pack? I finally heard sound samples…..sounds pretty interesting. I loved The Letting Go and Beware, and even the duet album with Tortoise, but this sounds quite different.

  15. Nick says:

It’s top third for me. Master and Everyone, I See A Darkness, The Letting Go and Lie Down in the Light are tops for me, but this one is up there. Beware is bottom third in my mind. I’m also a big fan of the recent live album with Louisville’s The Picket Line. Fantastic!

  16. rob says:

I guess you sorta have to have an appreciation for 1970s country music to love Beware. I think it’s awesome, especially Afraid Ain’t Me. Should be getting the Wondershow CD from local indie shop by the end of the week…..hopefully with the vinyl 45 included.

  17. Vin says:

I’m about halfway 3/4 through this and definitely have to say its one of his best. this album is reeeeaaaalllly good

  18. John Ruhl says:

I’m on about listen # 40 and every time I listen I hear something new in it. Whether it’s catching something new in the lyrics, usually humor, or a new sound played by Emmett…this album keeps on giving. I was not a huge fan of the work he did with Matt Sweeney and would already rate this either amoung my top five or six favorite releases from him. Maybe that will help somebody gauge whether or not they’d like it. Does anyone with the bonus 7″ have DropBox?
