Pokey LaFarge has graced Daytrotter with a fantastic session which you can check out HERE. Pokey has spent quite a bit of time in Louisville. In a 2008 interview with LEO, he said:
Well, I was traveling around with a “circus” of old-time music performers. We traveled through Louisville and played a show and I met a knockout gal and fell in love and stuck around. I fell in love with Louisville at the same time and it made the whole love affair that much more intense.
I’m not sure this man knows where home really is. It’s not really his style, preferring time on the road and living the life of a traveler, learning the stories of the people and spreading his own. Parts Kerouac, Bukowski & Lightnin’ Hopkins, Pokey knows how to entertain. We caught him at this year’s Forecastle and he put on a fantastic show. We hope to catch him again soon.
