My Morning Jacket’s hiatus has left Jim James busier than ever. There’s Monsters of Folk and the Tribute EP and now Jim is going to be joining forces with our friend Ray Rizzo to help celebrate one of Louisville’s most beloved venues, The Rudyard Kipling. When I mentioned the Motherlodge tribute to the Rud’s 25th year of breathing life into Louisville’s music scene, I had ALSO mentioned that “I wouldn’t be surprised if a few other long-time musical patrons to the Rud end up making an appearance…” with a feeling that we might see both Jim James and Scott Carney and maybe a few others finding their way into the set. Now it seems that Jim is going to be playing a solo set on the opening night, Thursday, October 1st. SEE OUR FULL COVERAGE OF THE EVENT HERE.
