VHS or Beta are finally doing a show at home. Friday in LexTown, Saturday in Louisville. Hopefully the poor turnout at the CD Release party won’t be indicative of the turnout for the concert. The new album has gotten mixed reviews, but they put on an amazing show with some of the highest intensity I’ve seen. It shold be an amazing time. I got my tickets today to secure my place at the show. See you there.
Yeah…I was really upset when I found out it was cover bands. I knew it was too good to be true, but the fact Suicide is touring now gave me hope (or at least they just did a show in Brklyn earlier this summer). Nevertheless, it could be a great way to spend halloween & its not exactly cost-prohibitive.
If you don’t know Suicide, run your head into a wall and quit reading this blog. If you do, pat yourself on the back. They are basically the reason synth-pop exists today. There is of course the Jesus Lizard too which I know they’re great and everything, but must admit I’ve not listened to quite as much, but the show should compliment one another really well…Check them out
Usually some pretty cool things to see and do and wish you could buy at the St. James Art Fair (though when I used to live over there I recall the traffic being miserable, so I’ll be biking). The dates are Oct. 5, 6, 7 running from 10am to 6pm (5pm on sunday). If you’ve never been, I highly recommend it…it pulls a lot of artists and leathersmiths and potters and things of that nature from arond the country. Wikipedia says its about 700 artisans and 300,000 visitors. Come see for yourself.
Bejeezus release party will be on October 6th @ 10pm at the Rudyard Kipling in Louisville. Mark your calendars. Music by One Small Step, Kentucky Prophet, andThe Slow Break. We have other fun things planned for the night too. More details soon.
Bejeezus 9 is out now. I’m pretty sure the first so many get a free copy.
This is the last weekend to see Hedwig & the Angry Inch. I’m going tomorrow. Students get in for $17 with a valid student ID (I think). If you go just a few minutes before it starts (like 15) its usually half price.
Here is what people are saying about the show. Check out Actor’s Theatre’s website
SHOW CANCELED…Guess the $30 tix drove away all those interested.
Stephen Lynch is coming to the Ville on October 5. I saw this guy in LA at the House of Blues and he put on an awesome show. It is a mix of stand-up comedy and catchy tunes (ala Tenacious D). The venue isn’t the best and the tix are gonna run you $27.50 (click here to buy). I’m still debating whether this steep price is worth the 1h30m show. Check out one of his videos below and you be the judge:

Apple opens its doors at 6 pm in Oxmoor Mall in Louisville on September 6. The first 1,000 visitors get a free t-shirt. If that isn’t incentive enough, maybe they’ll have the new iPod being released later today. See that story here.
The official website for the new store can be found here, and includes events and workshops.
Sort of a ridiculous video, as many conspiracy videos are, but it is very interesting nevertheless (at least the first part), although I’d argue its a misreading of the song.
The Lyrics to There is a light that never goes out are posted below (more…)
October brings cooler weather, colored leaves and Hanson. Apparently, they’re back. They’re travelmates aren’t that bad. The show is Oct. 12 at Coyotes. I won’t be there, but would love to know how the show goes.
